Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Joins Torridon Law Firm

WASHINGTON — Torridon Law announced that Mike Pompeo, former U.S. Secretary of State, is joining the firm as Of Counsel and is also joining its related strategic advisory firm, Torridon Group LLC. Secretary Pompeo brings over three decades of experience in the public and private sector, including service in the Trump administration as the 70th U.S. Secretary of State and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, as well as being elected to four terms in Congress representing the Fourth District of Kansas. As a member of Congress, he served on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Intelligence Committee.

As the nation’s most senior diplomat and chief negotiator, Secretary Pompeo helped America become a massive energy exporter and a force for good in the Middle East with real peace cemented in the Abraham Accords. Secretary Pompeo placed special emphasis on renewing alliances with key allies, including IndiaJapanAustralia, and South Korea.

Before serving in Congress, Secretary Pompeo spent a decade leading two manufacturing businesses in Wichita, Kansas. He founded Thayer Aerospace, a global supplier to the world’s leading commercial and military aircraft builders, serving as CEO. He later became president of Sentry International, an oilfield equipment manufacturing, distribution, and service company.

Secretary Pompeo graduated first in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986, after which he served as a cavalry officer patrolling the Iron Curtain before the fall of the Berlin Wall. He also served with the 2nd Squadron, 7th Cavalry in the U.S. Army’s Fourth Infantry Division.

After leaving active duty, Secretary Pompeo graduated from Harvard Law School, having been an editor of the Harvard Law Review, and was an associate in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Williams & Connolly LLP.
